Quick Write Time

Today in class we have been doing quick write sessions, where we  only have 10 minutes to plan, prepare, and write about a topic.  Here are a few examples.

Kiwi Golf
I could hear the flags were flapping . I saw balls flying in the air like meteors. I can feel the golf club as I swing it in my hands. I wonder if we can do it again next time.
by Xavier

I heard people screaming and flags flapping. I saw people throwing balls, dropping balls and falling over. I felt the wind and the balls coming at me. I wonder if we can do that again.

Boom! Boom!  went the thunder and lightning yesterday. I saw enormous flashes of yellow light
zig-zagging down. I felt big and small raindrops dripping down my back and freezing my toes. I wonder when will it go away?
By Camille

Yesterday we played kiwi golf outside. I saw people laughing on the field. Then the people whacked the ball far. I felt strong because I hit the ball half way down the field.
By Wirihana

Flap, flap, flap went the kiwi golf flags as they fluttered through the air. I saw the balls speed past me like a rocket ship. I felt a freeze go up me like a frozen ice cream. I wonder if we are going to do it again today?

Whoosh! Whoosh! as the wind blew through my hair. Pople fighting over the balls, OMG. "People find your own ball", I yelled. I told the kiwi golf person and he yelled "who cares, at least you've got three balls!" I wonder if anyone else would agree with me?

  1. Wow Xavier, great writing! I really like how you used a simile to describe how the golf balls flew through the air. It helped me to picture it in my head. Keep up the great work because with your crazy awesome ideas I am sure you could easily get famous for your writing. Auntie Leesha
